Fifth & final MaRINET2 call opens for free offshore renewables testing
1 September 2020. The final call for the EU-funded MaRINET2 project opens today, targeted at offshore energy technology developers who are looking to test their device or components. The project offers free access to a world-leading network of testing and research infrastructures in Europe.
The fifth and final call
Open until 16 October, the fifth and final call will grant access to a number of research and testing facilities, for developers of offshore wind, wave and tidal energy systems and components. IFREMER’s Boulogne-sur-Mer Wave-Current flume and Brest Materials Testing rigs are offered under this call among other facilities.
Initially scheduled for June 2020, the call timetable has been postponed due to Covid-related delays. An updated timetable and a webinar recording to assist candidates with their application and share updates on the process, are available on the project website.
About MaRINET2
MaRINET2, the Marine Renewables Infrastructure Network, is a network of 39 partners in 13 European Countries, involving research centres and organisations who work together to progress offshore renewable energy technologies such as wave, tidal and offshore-wind. This pan-European network will provide marine energy development companies, entrepreneurs, start-ups and researchers with fully-funded access to marine energy experts and the world's leading wave, tidal and offshore-wind test facilities.
So far, MaRINET2 has awarded almost €5 million in free testing access, across a network of 57 world-leading research facilities across Europe. The project’s objective is to accelerate the progress of the European offshore renewables sector towards full-scale industrialisation.
