Register for the Webinar "Marine Test Sites, strengthening the links between Research, Innovation and Industry for a Sustainable Blue Economy" - 26/09/2023 at 15h CEST

IFREMERISSS and MEP Jutta Paulus are organising the webinar “Marine Test Sites, strengthening the links between Research, Innovation and Industry for a Sustainable Blue Economy” on 26/09/2023 at 15h CEST (1 hour webinar), together with speakers from ENEAHydroquest and North Sea Farmers (in partnership with TNO).

Marine test sites (MTS) are essential infrastructures to accelerate marine engineering innovation, contributing to the Sustainable Blue Economy. Following fundamental technological research related to the development of prototypes, sea trials play a major role in experimental development. They enable the validation of prototypes in real conditions as well as pre-industrial tests.

MTS are relying on high-level research and engineering teams and the ISSS partners manage several of them in Europe. By doing so, they strengthen links between industry and research because scientists are then able to collaborate closely and concretely on field with industry representatives in order to develop sustainable solutions for society. Marine test sites are indeed available for carrying out experiments or demonstrations in a wide range of application areas, including for industrial purposes: Marine Renewable Energy, Aquaculture, Robotics, Data acquisition, etc.

Learn more about the role of MTS for a European Sustainable Blue Economy by participating in our webinar on 26 of September, 15’o clock CEST.

Context

The Innovation Platform Sustainable Sea and Ocean Solutions (ISSS) is a consortium gathering 10 Research and Technology Organisations (RTO): +Atlantic CoLab, AZTI, ENEA, Fraunhofer, IFREMER, RISE, SINTEF, TECNALIA, TNO and VTT.

Our vision is a climate-neutral continent through a completely green-blue transformed economy and society in 2050. Our mission is the responsible utilization of our oceans, to harness their potential and create additional value and future-proof jobs in the European marine and maritime sectors. Our goal is to develop and master innovative technologies for a sustainable blue economy to boost the European Green Deal and facilitate an internationally competitive European maritime industry. We aim for the rapid transfer and viable market uptake of our research and innovation activities into industrial applications

ISSS partners organize webinars under the patronage of Members of the European Parliament on specific topics related to Blue Sustainability. It is the ISSS Talking Blue Sustainability Series. Click here to get more information about the two first webinars.
